MT. ZION WOMAN CHARGED WITH PROVIDING FALSE INFORMATION

A Mt. Zion woman has been arrested by Sr. Trooper J. R. Brewer for providing false or misleading information. Sixty-one-year-old Laverne Phillips was taken to Central Regional Jail. Phillips, according to the criminal complaint, apparently told officers she had no knowledge of a stolen pistol, related to an incident involving her son John Phillips. The complaint says officers discovered the weapon had been in the woman's residence, and "that the accused had pawned the pistol to Charlie Booher," of Mt. Zion.
