Time To Put On Your Chef's Hat

The 42nd Annual West Virginia Molasses Festival will have a Recipe Cook-Off on Saturday, September 26th as part of the annual event to be held September 24-26.

The cook-off is sponsored by Glenville Care and Rehabilitation Center, a member of SunBridge Healthcare, serving the local community for its rehabilitation and long-term care needs.

Trophies will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and "Crowd Favorite" winners.

Winners will be announced following Saturday's Grand Parade.

Entry Rules:

~ Entries must be fully prepared and accompanied by a copy of the recipe on the day of competition.

~ Entries can be main dish, side dish, bread, dessert, etc.

~ Entries will be judged on taste, appearance, texture.

~ All entries must contain molasses as an ingredient.

~ Prepared entries must be received on September 26 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. inside the main building at the Arnoldsburg Community Park.

~ An entry fee of $5 is due at the time of each entry submission. No limit on the number of entries per person (1 entry = $5, 2 entries = $10, etc.)

~ Judging will begin at 11 a.m. Crowd will cast their vote for the "Crowd Favorite" following official judging. $1 allows crowd to sample all entries!
