SPENCER WOMEN INJURED IN PARKERSBURG COLLISION - Ivydale Man Killed On I-79

Karen Hicks, 53, and Brenda Harper, 41, of Spencer were taken to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained in a two-vehcile collision at the intersection of Route 47 and I-77. The Wednesday night accident also involved Edward Acree, 37, of Vincent, Ohio.

A Pontiac Grand Am driven by Hicks reportedly struck Acree's GMC pick-up truck. Police cited Hicks after she reportedly ran a red light, and was not wearing a seat belt. Damage to the Hick's vehicle was given at $3000.

Edward C. Reed, 47, of Ivydale, Clay County, was killed early Thursday morning on I-79, being thrown forty-feet from his vehicle. Reed reportedly crossed in front of a tractor-trailer, going off the roadway and rolling over an embankment. The accident happened at the 14 mile marker in Kanawha County about 1:50 a.m.
