STATE POLICE ANNOUNCE ANNUAL CRACK-DOWN ON POT GROWING

The West Virginia State Police has issued a press release saying they are cracking down on growers of marijuana plants in the Mountain State.

The State Police are actively searching for illegal marijuana plants.

Aerial searches are underway and they say they are successfully tracking down thousands of plants.

Most are being found in the southern part of the state, but searches are being conducted in every county in the state.

Cpl. Chad Morton of the West Virginia State Police says the searches are being conducted by National Guard helicopters.
