(08/20/2009)
Wirt County commissioner Charles Murray, told the Hur Herald today, "There is an investigation going on," likely related to one or more of Wirt County's elected officials and their records.

Murray said, "Details will come out in a few days. That's all I can say."

Prosecutor Leslie Mace was out of her office.

The West Virginia State Police are reportedly involved in the investigation, reportedly after meeting with county commissioners during an executive session this week.

Wirt County Clerk Suellen Calebaugh said she "could not comment" on the matter.

Wirt County Circuit Clerk Theresa Rollins said, "Nothing has come through my office."
