Acting State Director Dianne Goff Crysler has announced that Rural Development has approved a Community Facilities grant in the amount of $27,000 for Gilmer County Commission.

Rural Development funds will be used to assist in purchasing a new tractor.

Crysler added, "The equipment will be used to maintain the grounds of the Gilmer County Recreation Center."

Rural Development has also approved a Community Facilities grant in the amount of $23,650 for Gilmer County Family Resource Network (FRN), Inc.

The grant will be used to assist in purchasing equipment for the Gilmer County Family Resource Network's community conference room.

Through the Community Facilities Programs, assistance is provided to facilities such as libraries, schools, senior centers, and First Responders (e.g., ambulance services, hospitals), using a variety of programs that assist in funding construction, operating costs, repairs and equipment.
