WV KNIFE AND GUN CLUB - Charleston Toddler Shot In Leg, Logan Man Stabbed To Death

(08/17/2009)
STABBING IN CABELL COUNTY - Sheriff Deputies were on the scene of a stabbing near Huntington. Dispatchers said that one person was stabbed just after 1:30 p.m. Sunday on Altizer Avenue.

Deputies are saying that two people have been taken to the hospital. Deputies believe the incident was because of a domestic dispute. No word on the conditions of the victims.

LOGAN MAN DEAD IN STABBING - A Logan County man is dead and his twin brother is in the hospital after a man came into their home and stabbed them.

The incident happened Saturday night at Man.

Police say Billy Johnston knocked on the door of the house that twin brothers Mac and Jerry Belcher, 68, shared. When Mac Belcher opened the door, he was stabbed several times.

Johnston reportedly went to the bedroom where Jerry was still sleeping and stabbed him multiple times as well, killing him.

Despite injuries, Mac Belcher managed to get a gun and shoot at Billy Johnston, with none of the shots hitting him.

Police arrested Johnston and took him to the Southwestern Regional Jail.

Mac Belcher is at Charleston General Hospital, where doctors say his wounds don't appear to be life threatening.

Neighbors indicated this wasn't the first time that the 68-year-old twin brothers had been in an altercation with Johnston.

HARRISON CO. WANTON ENDANGERMENT - The Harrison County Sheriff's Department has arrested a man on wanton endangerment charges.

Police say, James Russell Carden, 44, fired a handgun at one person while at Little Rock Camp in the Sardis area of Harrison County in July.
