POLICE UNITS RESPOND TO CLAY'S MURDER MOUNTAIN

(08/13/2009)
The Clay Communicator is reporting today that State Police and the Clay Sheriff's Department is on Clay's "Murder Mountain," known as Oil Field Road near Ovapa, reportedly looking for stolen equipment.

Reports indicate the running of vehicle VINS and ID requests through NCIC.

A roll-back wrecker was hauling vehicles and equipment from the remote area.

It was unclear if arrests were made.

The Murder Mountain area has frequently been the site of stolen equipment, the Communicator says "everything from bulldozers to bobcats to skidders and SUVs."

Murder Mountain's reputation came from episodes of gunfire, injuries and deaths in recent years.
