Mary "Agnes" Marks 85 - Palestine

Mary "Agnes" Marks 85, of Palestine West Virginia, departed this life August 8, 2009 at Camden Clark Hospital, Parkersburg.

She was born in Creston WV, November 11, 1923 the daughter of the late Herman and Mayme (Park) Jenkins.

She was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her family, working in the garden and her flowers and quilting.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years Charles "Burt" Marks; 6 children, Charolette (Raymond) Kline of Diamond, Ohio, Sandra (Emzy) Ashby, Marvin (Beverly) Marks, Blaine (Linda) Marks, Janet Jett all of Palestine, and Sheryl (Neal) Belt Of Burning Springs; 1 daughter-in-law Shelia Marks of Palestine; 2 sisters, Cora Holcomb of Elizabeth and Letha Lockhart of East Sparta, Ohio; 21 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 1 son, Leroy Marks; 1 brother, Athel Jenkins; 3 sisters, Virginia Merrill, Rita Jenkins, and Dessie Campbell.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday August 11 at Matheny-Whited Funeral Home, Elizabeth with Ronald Hennen officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to time of the service on Tuesday.

Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at Groundhog, Creston, WV.
