Ruby Gladys Miller-McCumbers, 81 - Rosedale

Ruby Gladys Miller-McCumbers, 81, of Rosedale, West Virginia, died August 4, 2009 at her home after a long illness.

Gladys was born at Mill Fork, Braxton County, March 9, 1928 the youngest daughter of the late William Benson and Myrtle Young Miller.

She worked at Kellwood Company in Spencer, WV, and retired from Calhoun General Hospital cafeteria as a cook. She loved to make quilts. She always had one in her head, one in her hands, and one in the quilting frames.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jerry Clyde McCumbers; and five children, Kathleen McCumbers of Rosedale, Charlene (Charles) Stewart of Spencer, David Gregory (Annabel) McCumbers of Glenville, Teresa McCumbers of Elizabeth, Debra Lynn McCumbers of Spencer; and one sister, Molly Costlow of Clarksburg.

She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Jennifer (Mark) Bottonfield of Spencer, Jaime McCumbers of Shock, Justin McCumbers of Gassaway, Randy Voiek of Glenville, Tracy (Shannon) Nelson of Elizabeth, Matthew (Angie) Stewart of Cairo, Brenda Lacy of Birch River, and Billy (Angie) Lacy of Nebo; 8 great grandchildren, Gregory and Nikki Bottonfield, Malachi McCumbers, Colton and Olivia Stewart, Timmie, Tisha and Toby Maze.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, George, Dewey, Cecil, Edward, Lewis and Harold; and sisters, Hailey Brady and Esta Chenoweth.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, August 6 at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Jimmy Buchanan will officiate. Interment will be in the Mill Fork Cemetery at Rosedale.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
