Welcome to Beason. We appreciate you stopping by!

We would like to send out our deepest sympathy to Mae Meade and her family for the loss of her son. She is my co-worker at 7-11 and is a very lovely person.

We also would like to send out congratulations to Miss Taylor Parsons for her first runner up placement in the recent Miss Ritchie County Fair pageant. Taylor is a great client of the Main Street Hair Studio and Tribal Tans. We always enjoy seeing her.

Ms. Ericka Furr of the Main Street Hair Studio is celebrating her 21st birthday on August 2nd. Stop in and show her some love for her birthday.

I hit another deer this week with my Explorer. I am wondering how much longer my poor car is going to survive. This time I hit the deer in Calhoun County. I really think the deer are on a mission to destroy my car so I can't hit the road. Little do they know, that will never stop me. Apparently, they are unaware of whom they are dealing with.

Anyway, I hope every deer ends up in freezers all over Ritchie County and the surrounding counties just to be on the safe side. From what I understand they have been hitting Ethan's pumpkin patch pretty hard as well. So, I guess there are some really brave deer considering Ethan is taking his pumpkin business pretty seriously. The deer just don't realize how serious he is and will be finding out if they keep invading the patch.

B.F. and I's annual birthday plans have changed dramatically since the last column. I hate that but it just seems nothing has been able to fall together for various reasons. Hopefully, we can throw something together before the end of the summer.

For all of you classic rock fans out there (including me) will be thrilled to know KISS has opened a coffee house sort of establishment in Myrtle Beach. A coffee house would not be something I would expect out of KISS, but, they have done it. Can you picture Gene Simmons greeting you at the door and saying, would you like a table in the "Rock and Roll, Party Every Day" section or the calmer "Beth" section? That cracks me up just thinking about it.

School starts in 27 days. (Not that I am counting, of course) But, the kids are driving their mother to the edge. They feel they must begin the fights at the crack of dawn (which is before noon to me) and continue throughout the day. I am really hoping they don't take these attitudes to school. The teachers will certainly wonder about my parenting skills. But, I am sure they will be angels for them. I always get some nice comments on their report cards. One time I wrote back and said, "Are you sure this was intended for my child? No chance of a mix-up?" Avery said a couple times last year that I was ruining his life by making him go to school. He asked me how he was supposed to get some quality time by going to school. At first, I thought that gesture was really sweet. I thought he actually missed me while he was at school. Wrong! He meant quality time with the XBOX. Oh, can you feel the love there?

Once again, I would like to thank my clients at the salon, the customers at 7—11 and all of my co-workers. I don't know everything yet (I know that comes as a surprise because my 12 year old seems to think he does) and I appreciate your kindness and patience as I try to handle two jobs.

Blessings to you and yours for the upcoming week.
