GRANTSVILLE & ARNOLDSBURG TO JOIN CITIES FOR "AMERICA'S NIGHT OUT AGAINST CRIME"

Grantsville and Arnoldsburg are joining forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the "26th Annual National Night Out" (NNO) crime and drug prevention event, Tuesday, August 4th.

National Night Out, sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and co-sponsored locally by Calhoun Community Youth Force and Calhoun Tobacco Coalition will involve over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases around the world.

In all, over 37 million people are expected to participate in "America's Night Out Against Crime". NNO 2009 is being supported in part by TARGET, the national corporate sponsor.

From 6 to 10 p.m. residents in Grantsville and Arnoldsburg are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police. A variety of special events will be hosted.

events. 6 p.m. - Emergency Personnel Parade and Cookout on Main Street, Grantsville.

6:10 p.m. - Opening Ceremony

6:15 p.m. - Booths Open

6:30 p.m. - DUNK A COP (collect enough tickets from the participating booths and you get to dunk a cop)

8-10 p.m. - Movie on the lawn of the Calhoun Courthouse

In the event of rain all activities will be at the Calhoun County Committee on Aging, Grantsville Senior Center.
