BLACK ICE TOTALS CAR - Driver Escapes Injury

Spots of black ice on Route 5 east of Grantsville caused an auto accident Friday. Jason Scott Fox escaped injury, but his 1996 Ford was totaled, according to Chief Deputy Carl Ballengee of the Calhoun Sheriff's Department.

The vehicle went over an embankment about 8:30 a.m.

Fox, a student at Glenville State College, was driving east on Route 5, when the accident happened near the mouth of Bull River.

The Grantsville VFD and Calhoun EMS also responded.
