Acting State Director Dianne Goff Crysler has announced that Rural Development approved a Community Facilities loan in the amount of $90,000 and a grant of $50,000 for Gilmer County Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. Rural Development funds will be used to assist in purchasing a new tank truck. Crysler added, "A reliable tanker is needed to shuttle water in areas without hydrants and for situations that require decontamination of hazardous materials."
