300 JOBS COULD BE CREATED IN BRAXTON CO. INVESTMENT

About 300 jobs with $45 million in private investment could create jobs in Braxton County, according to the federal Economic Development Administration. The agency has announced it was awarding the Braxton County Commission and the Flatwoods-Canoe Public Service District in Sutton a $1 million grant to increase the capacity of the water treatment and distribution system. The investment will help Braxton County increase water capacity for business expansion. According to the general manager of the Flatwoods-Canoe Public Service District the facility will also receive another $700,000 from Weyerhaeuser, which produces materials for homes, such as flooring and wall structures.
