MAXINE S. FOUTTY - Alaska formerly of Parkersburg

MAXINE S. FOUTTY Maxine Sarah Foutty, 76, of Palmer, Alaska, died February 2, 2002, at Our House Assisted Living Center of Palmer.

Ms. Foutty was born Aug. 2, 1925, in Arnoldsburg, WV. She received her education from the Calhoun County School system completing schooling through the eighth grade. Her Alaska residency began in 1998, when she moved to Palmer. She had worked for S.S. Kresge Company in the early 1940s. She then became a housewife and full time mother.

She was a member of the Lauckport United Methodist Church of Parkersburg and more recently a member of the Palmer Senior Citizens Morning Star program. Sewing, crocheting and listening to books on tape were her most enjoyable hobbies and interest.

Her family stated, ''We hope everyone will stop and reflect on the path of their own lives and if needed alter their course toward their inner peace and happiness.''

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, David and Sonja Foutty of Wasilla, Alaska; one granddaughter, Sarah Foutty of Wasilla; three sisters; and three brothers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel H. Foutty formerly of Mineral Wells; her parents, Earl and Lalah Knotts; two brothers; and one sister.

Ms. Foutty's cremated remains will be interred at the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Cemetery of Mineral Wells at a latter date.
