Edna F. Jarvis, 69 - Grantsville

Edna F. Jarvis, 69, of Grantsville, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at her residence, after an 8 year battle with cancer.

She was the daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Virgie R. Frederick. Edna was a 1957 graduate of Calhoun County High School and a member of Victory Baptist Church where she was an active participant in many youth activities and blessed many lives with her card ministry.

She was a retired Pharmacy Technician from the family business, J & B Drug Store, kindergarten teacher, Girl Scout leader, Cub Scout den mother, member of the Order of Eastern Star, employed with MHHS for 1 year at the Daycare Center, and Bethlehem Cemetery caretaker. Edna loved tending to her flowers and feeding the variety of wildlife at her home.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 51 years, Richard (Dick) Jarvis; one son, Rick (Cheryl) Jarvis of Grantsville; one daughter, Leisa Jarvis of Mineral Wells; five grandchildren Justin Hartshorn, Kristina Jarvis, Melissa Hartshorn, Seth Jarvis, and Aaron Dawson-Jarvis; five siblings, Dallas (Carlene) Frederick, Denzil (Linda) Frederick, Lillian Frederick, George (Patty) Frederick and Roger (Susie) Frederick.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Eva Jean Sams.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday July 12 at Victory Baptist Church. Friends and family may call one hour prior to services. Following the services, interment will be held at Bethlehem Cemetery with Rev. Mike Worf and Rev. Carroll McCauley officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or any charitable organization of your choice.
