WVU EXTENSION OFFICE MOVES UPSTAIRS IN COUNTY COURTHOUSE

(07/08/2009)

L-R - Brandy Brabham (Extension Agent-Agriculture), Alexandria
Sutro (Recovery AmeriCorps VISTA), Bridgett Harris (AmeriCorps
VISTA), Curtis Garretson (Extension Agent), Nancy Bremar
(Nutrition Outreach Instructor), Sam Cason (Administrative
Secretary), Daniel Burkett (WVU Summer Workstudy)

The WVU Extension Service Office in Grantsville has moved to the top floor of the Courthouse.

"The office was out-growing the original basement space and the move to a larger space was needed," said Extension Agent Curtis Garretson.

Garretson said, "The County Commissioners kindly gave us the entire top floor of the Courthouse for our new office space. The Board of Education also agreed to supply floor tiles for the new office."

With the added space the WVU Extension Service was able to hire an AmeriCorps VISTA worker, an additional Recovery AmeriCorps VISTA, and a WVU Summer Work study.

Bridgett Harris was hired as the AmeriCorps VISTA for the 2009-2010 year. She began her service on June 1st and will work for the Extension Office through June 1st, 2010.

Alexandria Sutro was hired as the Recovery AmeriCorps VISTA for the 2009-2010 year. She began her service on July 6th.

Daniel Burkett was hired as the WVU Summer Work Study on May 26th, and will be working for the office until August 14th.
