Sue Haught Pettit, 79, of Brohard

Sue Haught Pettit, 79, of Brohard, passed away July 5, 2009, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born Feb. 22, 1930, the daughter of the late Harry Glenn Rollins and Thelma Leona Haught. She graduated from Harrisville High School in 1948.

She was a member and played the piano at the Bell Chapel United Methodist Church. She was the postmaster at Munday for 24 years, worked for Viscose FMC Corp. in the general industries assembly line, was co-owner of Pettit grocery for 23 years, and a member and former officer of the Order of the Eastern Star Cairo Chapter 32.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Lewis Pettit; a daughter, Lou Ann McVey and husband, Duane, of Palestine, W.Va.; a granddaughter, Jordan Beckett of Palestine; a stepgranddaughter, Amber McVey of Mineral Wells; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Peyton McVey and Lincoln Thorn of Mineral Wells; and a brother, Jack Rollins of Macfarlan, W.Va.

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by a son, Randall Alden Pettit; and two brothers, Louis and Richard Rollins.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Busch-Kimes Funeral Home of Elizabeth, 836 Washington St., with the Rev. Bob Stanley officiating. Burial will follow at the Hartley Cemetery, Wirt County. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
