Emergency workers bring woman to ambulance

A 62-year-old woman was taken to Minnie Hamilton Health System at 3 a.m. today for evaluation after a car in which she was riding went over the embankment on Rt. 16, Barr Hill near Calhoun Auto Care.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Harold Cornell of Grantsville, indicated he struck a deer.

Grantsville firemen said the vehicle was "teetering on the road bank," about to plunge over the hillside.

Calhoun EMS responded with the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department.

Deputy Sheriff Jeff Starcher was investigating.
