| A Roane County middle school teacher has been charged with solicitation of a 13-year-old female minor.
The Roane County Sheriff's Department arrested Michael Brohard, a teacher and coach at Walton Middle School.
Roane County Prosecutor Josh Downey said the charge involved text messaging.
"It's a very serious allegation at this point that the state is taking very seriously," he said.
The complaint says the victim is a student at the school.
The problem was discovered by the minor's mother, who notified authorities.
Brohard has been released from Central Regional Jail on $50,000 bond.
