JUDGE STARCHER REVOKES JOHN RICHARDS' BOND - Issues Warrant, New Trial Set

(06/23/2009)
Special Judge Larry Starcher revoked John Manis Richards' bond yesterday in Glenville and issued a capias/warrant for Richards to be arrested.

Starcher stayed the execution of the warrant until Richards is released from Camden-Clark Hospital in Parkersburg, according to Karen Elkin, Gilmer County Circuit Clerk.

Richards' father, Morris Richards of Parkersburg, is surety on his bond, according to the court. The elder Richards told the Herald his son is suffering from heart failure and high blood pressure.

A new trial has been set for July 22 in Glenville at 9 a.m.

The trial has been delayed several times since 2008.

The Richards trial is related to the alleged stealing of equipment and materials from Hardman Supply of Glenville in July, 2007.
