FIFTY NINE SWINE FLU CASES CONFIRMED IN MOUNTAIN STATE - 34 Cases In Wood

State health officials say Swine Flu cases now number 59 in the Mountain State, including a 'mini-outbreak' in Wood County.

Dr. Rahul Gupta, Kanawha County Health Director, said Friday the the virus is spreading like a pandemic.

Thirty-five of the in-state cases are in Wood County, where one of the first confirmed cases was found.

Six out-of-state residents who had been traveling in West Virginia were diagnosed with the virus.

In addition to Wood and Kanawha counties, the virus has been found in Berkeley, Boone, Cabell, Greenbrier, Hancock, Lincoln, Monongalia, Putnam and Raleigh counties.

Only one case has required hospitalization.
