Folks came from far & near for the big donation auction at the Creston Community Building. There were lots of good deals all through the sale. The local area received more rain although it was sunny over the weekend with more rain in the forecast. It was noted that in spite of Albert Gore Jr.'s making $200 million fighting his "so called global warming" the first week of June was cool and elsewhere in the nation there was frost and snow.

Cap'n Eddie has a big bullfrog in his pond and every night the bull frog sings Eddie and Gloria to sleep. While they sleep well, thanks to the sonorous singing of Mr. Bullfrog, others lay awake nights thinking of how they will get the frog in the skillet so that they can sleep well with a stomach full of fried frog.

The Wirt road crew worked on some of the bad places in the Richardsonville road.

A while back the world was told that America was no longer a Christian nation and now we learn that the United States is one of the world's largest Moslem nations or so the fellow some in other parts of the world call "President Pantywaist" said.

According to the elite, we are supposed to "get beyond fossil fuels" and then there will be "all the green jobs" that GE, especially through their mouthpiece NBC have been touting. Regular light bulbs have now been outlawed (stock up while one can) and the new mercury vapor lights are all made in China. Solar panels, the way of the future to hear some of them tell it, because of government rules cannot be made in America and are all made in India & China. Of course in those sections math and science are stressed in school so there are qualified engineers, draftsmen, tool & die makers, etc. to support manufacturing. America's schools seem to be generating folks who have empathy, self esteem and a total ignorance of history or skills needed for a vibrant economy, etc.

Earlier it was reported that used military brass was sold to folks who made cartridges for reloading. Now, with change, the brass is shredded and shipped to China for use by the Peoples' Liberation Army. The big eared one has a half brother there who is in the import/export business.

Letters have gone out on the settlement of the Dominion class action lawsuit. However, it seems that the language in at least some of the forms is not what was expected. While it was understood that this would bring an end to the flat rate wells that pay the same as they did in 1900 when $300 was a significant sum of money the documents state "the undersigned acknowledges Dominion's intention to continue to pay flat rate royalties prospectively from June 2006". Until an explanation is furnished likely it would be best not to sign & return the forms. There is a July 17 deadline.

The addresses provided by Chesapeake in the settlement of that class action suit were outdated causing many people who had property notified the company of the death of loved ones, postal address changes, etc to not be notified. It was understood that the deadline for filing claims in that action may have to be extended.

A while back a well known farmer was alleged to have shot a dog and the dog owner had the law come. It seems that there is some question about dealing with dogs that are around livestock, poultry, etc. The dog owner said the farmer was forced to pay him $1,000 for the canine.

According to testimony the folks who (formerly) ran Chrysler didn't want a fourth of their dealers shut down but were ordered to do such by the White House. Now, it has been learned that many of the shut down dealerships contributed to Republicans while those who gave generously to the fellow funded by the folks in the middle east were spared.

There has been a lot of discussion locally about the various actions and inactions of DHHR. Likely there will be soon some more news items.
