CLAY MAN SUES LOWES OVER SHODDY INSTALLATION

A Clay County man has sued Lowe's Home Centers and a Hurricane company over an allegedly shoddy cabinet and countertop installation at his home, according to the WV Record. Charles N. Blankenship filed the lawsuit May 19 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Lowe's and Design Restorations LLC. Blankenship says he entered into a contract with a Kanawha County Lowe's store to have new cabinets and countertops designed and installed in his home. The contract with Lowe's guaranteed that the installation would be performed by an experienced installer, that the work would be inspected and warranted. The suit says workers drilled into a waterline in the kitchen, also claiming the cabinets and countertops were not properly aligned, not level and properly spaced. He's seeking compensatory damages.
