CLARKSBURG SERIAL KILLER

State Police have quit searching a Braxton County property near Copen where a woman's body was found.

They say there's no hard evidence three more bodies are buried there.

Two bodies have been discovered, one in Braxton and one in Barbour County.

James Childers, 45, of Clarksburg killed himself after police approached his motel, following a recorded and written "confession" about five killings he committed.

Clarksburg Police Lt. Robert Matheny says Childers confessed to five homicides and four arsons.

Neighbors say he was an outgoing handyman, well known to both police and his neighbors, while others called him "a screwball."
