Welcome back to Beason. Otherwise identified as "Nowhere" on your map of the area.

I have recently acquired some disturbing information from one of my most reliable sources. It seems some higher dwellers of the Ritchie County Totem Pole have been dishonest about their use of "company" time and money. It's interesting that this information is slowly leaking out after an election. I believe the election results would have been dramatically different had everyone known what had been going on. I have also been informed there were insiders that knew of the wrongdoings and chose to keep quiet. Why would someone do that? If it affects us all, then it should've been made public knowledge. I guarantee that if I ever did anything wrong my name would be dirt all over this county. I guess it's all about whose pockets hold more Benjamins.

Believe it or not, I took on another job. I am working some days and midnights at our local 7-11. I worked 4 days this week and had a great time. The other employees and the customers have the patience of saints. I appreciate their efforts of tolerating my sorry butt. I still have my shop, but, car payments are hard to make when my season slows down. From what I understand, there have been tough times for a lot of people.

I finally rented "Twilight" only after it had been on DVD for like six years. I wasn't really that impressed. I liked the book much better. I can see that the writer will be making serious money on the sequels. She left us hanging at the end of the movie. I also rented "Nights in Rodanthe" with Richard Gere. If you happen to need a good cleansing cry, this is the movie to watch. I loved it. It's definitely a chick flick. It's one of those movies where a guy would rather clean out the oven than watch it. Rent it, it's worth it.

My boys are stoked about the Wood Festival in Calhoun County. I think we will go on Friday night if I can get all of our schedules worked out. But, chances are they will rope me into going on Saturday too. I like to go to catch up with old friends and get a Band Booster hot dog. The Band Booster hot dog is the best dog on the planet. For some reason, my stomach becomes a bottomless pit when it comes to those. I also will come clean and say I enjoy the mud bog stuff too. I'm 50% Redneck so I guess it's just inevitable that I like that sort of thing.

Congratulations go out to Cindy for the pending arrival of her first grandchild. I believe her daughter has a C-section scheduled for Monday. We hope everything goes smoothly for Mommy and the new baby.

Can you believe school is almost out for the summer? The whole summer. Three months. Almost 90 days, but whose counting? I feel sure I will be a step away from the Nut House by day two. I might as well go ahead and schedule their time-outs into my day. I know they're coming. Back in the day, I remember kids getting sent to the hayfield if they were bad. My boys love the hayfield, so, unfortunately that is not an option for punishment.

I hope you have a great week like your horoscope says you will. Wouldn't that be great if your horoscope was right about some things? Mine has said I will win a lot of money. Well, I am still waiting on that day to come. Hopefully, I won't be dead and gone before that happens. What good would that do me? Unless there is a big Gabriel's Sky, I would be S.O.L.

My choice of the week is, "Ladies Love Country Boys" by Trace Adkins. What's not to love about that song?
