FRONTIER'S INTERNET SERVICE DISRUPTED BY CABLE CUT

(05/31/2009)
Calhoun and several regional counties experienced a disruption in high-speed and dial-up Internet service over the weekend.

Service was restored Sunday afternoon after about 34 hours.

Karen Miller, a spokesperson for Frontier, said the problem was a Verizon fiber optic cable cut in the Parkersburg area, which affected regional service.

The service went down Saturday morning.

Miller said work crews experienced delays in fixing the problem Saturday night thunderstorms swept across the region.
