Thieves broke and entered the Grantsville VFW sometime early Tuesday morning,
according to Post Commander Paul Whytsell. Whytsell said the culprits took about
$300 from a cash box and a money jar.
Canteen manager Steve Roberts discovered an open side door when he opened the
establishment Tuesday morning about 10 a.m.
Whytsell said it appeared that bolt cutters were used to remove a padlock. The
double-locked door was then 'jimmied" open, he said. No vandalism accompanied the
breaking and entering.
The Grantsville Police department is investigating.
