SAMPSON AND METHENEY NAMED VALEDICTORIAN AND SALUTATORIAN

Anna Marie Sampson, Valedictorian
Andrew Richard Metheney, Salutatorian

Calhoun County Schools has named Anna Sampson, Valedictorian and Andrew Metheney, salutatorian for the Class of 2009 at Calhoun County High School. They will be recognized during graduation exercises tonight.

Anna is the daughter of Diana Sampson and the late Kenneth Sampson of Millstone. Her high school activities include National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Health Sciences & Technology Academy, Cross-County and Track.

She attended the Governor's Honor Academy and WSAZ Best of the Class. Anna was Cross Country Female MVP for three years. She was on the honor roll four years and had perfect attendance for two years. Her community activities include 4-H and the 4-H Charting Pin.

Anna plans to attend West Virginia University and major in speech pathology and audiology.

Andrew is the son of the Rev. Richard and Susan Metheney of Grantsville. His high school activities include PRIDE, RAZE and broadcasting. Andrew is a member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta; was an honor roll student four years and has completed 27 hours of college credit prior to graduation.

He is an Angel Food Ministry volunteer, World Vision 30-Hour Famine, and Relay for Life participant.

Andrew plans to attend Glenville State College and major in Business Administration.
