ARNOLDSBURG SCHOOL OPEN - Thanks To Staff And Community Assistance

Arnoldsburg Elementary School will be open Tuesday, May 12.

On Monday, May 4th, Calhoun County was hit hard by several inches of rain which caused widespread flooding. Unfortunately, Arnoldsburg Elementary School was not spared. The entire lower level of the building took on about six inches of water which left behind quite a mess.

AES staff, with the help of many others, spent several days working hard to get the building cleaned, sanitized, and ready for students to return. With the threat of more flooding in the forecast, many items, such as books, shelving, and filing cabinets, had to be moved to the upper level of the building and then returned once the threat was over.

AES would like to thank everyone who helped during the flood clean up. From providing food and cleaning supplies to filling sandbags and pushing squeegees, the community support has meant so much to the school. We are truly touched by the kindness and generosity shown during this challenging time.
