Thirteen fourth grade students from Pleasant Hill traveled to Stonewall Jackson Resort at Roanoke, West Virginia April 30th to perform for the 21st Century Community Learning Center State Conference.

The students performed African Boat Song, Irish Jig, Mongolian Night Song, Polka, African Dance and the "Junk Yard Band". As their t-shirts say "Our Trip Around the World", they have certainly traveled around the world this year in their studies.

This group of kids and their teachers, John Bugby and Scott Golinsky, are all about recycling as evidenced by the junk yard band which consists of a brake drum, 5 gallon buckets, #10 cans, vegetable cans, tire drum, pvc pipe xylophone, pipe xylophone and a 30 gallon barrel.

After their performance, the students received a standing ovation from their audience. The group will perform for the Calhoun Board of Education meeting on Monday, May 11th.
