FLOODING STRIKES REGION - LK Cresting Two Feet Above Flood Stage At Glenville

Most areas in the region received 2 to 2 1/2 inches of rain overnight and this morning.

Roane County officials say swollen creeks are flooding some basements Roane counties. All roads in Roane County except the westbound lanes of U.S. 33 are closed.

Schools in Calhoun, Gilmer and Roane closed early today because of high water.

The National Weather Service says the Little Kanawha River is expected to crest at 25 feet at Glenville later today, two feet above flood stage. Minor flooding is expected.
