UDATE: PINK ROAD COUPLE BEING RESCUED FROM HIGH WATER

Beech area received serious flooding this morning,
a few miles above the McCartney residence

2 PM - Firemen and rescue workers have removed Bob and Linda McCartney from their Pink Road residence to safety.

12:30 PM - A Pink Road couple are stranded in their flooded house, waiting to be rescued from high water along Beech-Henry's Fork.

Bob and Linda McCartney are on the second story of their home, as firemen are trying to get a boat to their house.

Members of the Arnoldsburg and Grantsville Volunteer Fire Departments are using boats to rescue the couple.

"We didn't have time to get out, the water came up fast," said Linda McCartney, expressing concern for her husband who has medical problems.

McCartney said water was in the house, about 12"-18", indicating "It has just ruined about everything."

She said the water has never been in the house since they moved there in 1989, although relatives indicated the house was slightly flooded about 50 years ago.
