8 AM: WEATHER SATELLITE SHOWS HEAVIER RAIN HEADED THIS WAY

Water has closed Rt. 16 at Chloe and Stinson from the West Fork of the Little Kanawha.

Rain is pounding the area, roads closing, power lines and trees down in highways.

Electric power lines are down on Rt. 16, Chloe, a short distance from the Upper West Fork Park, reported at 6:45 a.m.

Also power lines down on Euclid-Nicut Rd. near the mouth of Bear Run.

Water in or blocking highway at White Oak, Beech, Orma, Spring Run, Walker Rd. and Millstone.

Large trees fell on Dennis Fork near Hur at 2 a.m. blocking highway, pulling phone cable to ground.

Grantsville VFD and highway department responded to scene.

Flood Watch remains in effect through Monday afternoon for Barbour, Boone, Braxton, Calhoun, Clay, Fayette, Gilmer, Harrison, Kanawha, Lewis, Logan, McDowell, Mingo, Nicholas, Pocahontas, Raleigh, Randolph, Roane, Taylor, Upshur, Webster and Wyoming.
