UPDATE: ACKLEY TURNS SELF OVER TO SHERIFF PARSONS FOLLOWING MULTI-COUNTY CHASE

State Police and other authorities reportedly chased a driver across three or four counties late Friday night and early Saturday morning.

Gary Ackley, 23 (left), whose address was formerly listed as Grantsville, eluded State Police, the chase first reported on Altizer Road in Calhoun.

Ackley initially fled Calhoun to Roane County, either on Henry's Fork or Egypt Ridge road.

Reports from local residents told 911 the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed.

Officials indicated the man had outstanding warrants.

The chase, according to unconfirmed reports, continued to Jackson and possibly Mason County, with the driver not being apprehended.

Ackley called Calhoun Sheriff Allen Parsons this afternoon and turned himself in.

He is currently in Central Regional Jail for fleeing, reckless driving, driving suspended third x 2. Bond has been set at $6,000.

The Calhoun Sheriff's Department has charged Glen Allen Dix, 48, with license suspended 3rd offense x2. improper/expired registration, failure to obtain WV registration and no insurance.

Bond has been set at $8,500.
