MIDDLE SCHOOL SPELLING BEE WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Justin Mowrey is the 1st place winner, and Matt Rader is the alternate in the 7th and 8th grade category in the 2008-2009 Calhoun Middle School Spelling Bee.

Nate Hipp is the 1st place winner, and Aleah Dye is alternate in the 5th and 6th grade category.

Participants were narrowed down from the entire 5th through 8th grades in a multiple choice spelling test. Thirty made the elimination round out of over 160 students in the 7th-8th grade category, and 21 made the elimination round out of over 150 students for the 5th-6th grade category.

The winners will represent Calhoun County in the 19th annual RESA V Spelling Bee on May 21st.
