Melanie Diane Martin, 50, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at the Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, after a short battle with cancer. Surviving relatives include her husband, Steven R. Martin of Spencer; son, Steven at home; daughter, Kilana at home; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Rodney Harper of Spencer; grandson, Dylan Harper; sisters, Judy Barker and Connie Henson both of Spencer. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Stephanie; parents, Charles and Ruby Walker Casto; sister, Sharon Boggs; maternal grandparents, Happy and Dolly Walker; paternal grandparents, Jim and Allie Casto. A funeral service will be held Friday, April 17 at 11:00 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Pastor Smith Epling officiating. Burial will be in the Swank Cemetery, Speed. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
