COLLEEN GAINER - Big Springs

Blondenna Colleen Gainer, 72, of Big Springs, WV, died January 21, 2002, at her residence.

She was born March 6, 1929, at Leatherbark, WV, the daughter of the late James O. Kirby and Lola Cox Kirby of Big Springs. She graduated from Harrisville High School in 1946 and worked for many years as a seamstress at Economy Industries, Quality Fabricators and Rubber Fabricators.

Colleen was a member of the Blessed Hope Baptist Church of Big Springs.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Thirmen Gainer; two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Larry G. Stanley of Fairmont and Beth and Michael B. Conaway of Newport, Ohio; four grandchildren, Amanda and Justin Stanley and Joshua and John Mark Conaway; two brothers, Dennis W. Kirby and Glennis E. Kirby, both of Big Springs; and three sisters, Mestil Richards of Harrisville, Wanda Moore of Mogadore, Ohio and Betty Wagoner of Big Bend. WV.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Maxine Eagle.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Raiguel Funeral Home of Harrisville. Rev. Dallas Franklin Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in the Harrisville IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
