Mildred Anne Moales Sturm, 85 - Mt. Zion

Mildred Anne Moales Sturm, 85, of Mt. Zion, West Virginia, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Roane General Hospital in Spencer following an extended illness.

Born Dec. 20, 1923, in Kanawha County, she was a daughter of the late Jacob T. and Esta O'Dell Moales.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Fred Sturm Jr.; sisters, Phyllis Litton, Virginia Acree Carlin and Louis Kirk Lipscomb; and brothers, Camden and Earrie Moales.

Surviving are a son, Dana Sturm of Buckhannon; a daughter, Rhonda (Ed) Price of Arnoldsburg; grandchildren, Sgt. 1st Class Craig Sturm (Amanda) with the 89th Military Police Brigade of Copperas Cove, Texas, Eric Sturm of Marshville, N.C., and Cpl. Jennifer Price (Mike Deem) with the West Virginia State Police of Parkersburg; great-grandchildren, Orion and Lincoln Sturm of Panama City, Panama, Hayley, Brogan and Camden Sturm of Copperas Cove, Texas; one sister, Iva Lee Dodd of Boise, Idaho; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stump Funeral Home in Arnoldsburg. Rev. Jeffrey Moales will officiate. Interment will be in the O'Dell Cemetery on Dutch Ridge.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
