FORMER MAGISTRATE GANDEE DIES IN SPENCER

Former Roane County magistrate, Denver R. Gandee Jr., 56, of Spencer died Friday. Gandee, according to unofficial sources, died in his sleep. Gandee was defeated during the last election cycle. He was the son of well-known WWII veteran Denver Gandee, Sr., who survives, known for his involvement in a famous military event, from which a movie was made - "The Bridge at Remagen." Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer. Friends may call one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Eventide Cemetery, Spencer.
