It could help take the edge off tough economic times.

Grantsville's Community Garden is taking shape, with several of the plots already plowed, with further tilling to be done.

The plots, much like the World War II Victory Gardens, will be open for public use, says Garretson.

"We're seeking volunteers, participants and donations," he said.

The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the little courtroom of the Calhoun courthouse.

The meeting is open to the public, interested community members are encouraged to attend.

Applications and guidelines are available at WVU-Calhoun County Extension Office located in the basement of the Calhoun County Courthouse. Call 304-354-6332 for more information.
