Hazel L, McCumbers, 68, of Mt. City, Tennessee, formerly of Calhoun County, West Virginia, passed away March 28, 2009 at Johnson City Medical center, Johnson City, Tennessee.

Born in Webster County, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Ted and Millie Gay Clifton McCumbers.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Preston McCumbers, Sr.

She is survived by daughters, Betty Jean Crites (Larry) of Webster Springs, Tammy Sue Green of Tennessee, and Drema McCumbers of Mt. Zion; step children are Robert D. McCumbers, Sr. of Mt. Zion, Barbara Green (Johnny) of Parkersburg, Charles McCumbers of Clarksburg, Ruth Mitchell of Linn, James McCumbers of Charleston, Michael McCumbers of Moundsville, and Tom McCumbers of Houston, Texas; grandchildren are, Robert McCumbers, Jr. of Mt. Zion, Michael McCumbers of Spencer, Melinda D. McCumbers of Charleston, step grandchildren are Michael S. McCumbers of Mt. Zion, and Michelle McDonald of Mineral Wells.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, April 5 at the Messenger Cemetery at Sand Fork. Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville is in charge of arrangements.
