CAUSE OF FIRE THAT KILLED NICHOLAS FIREMAN UNDETERMINED

Investigators are saying severe damage and a lack of evidence have resulted in a ruling that the cause of the fire that killed two Nicholas County firemen is undetermined.

The fire that started in a camper and spread to a mobile home, killing 49-year-old Lt. Johnnie Hammon and 26-year-old Timothy Nicholas.

They were members of the Craigsville Beaver Cottle Volunteer Fire Department.

Hammon's brother, Gary, resides in Grantsville.

He said his brother's death was another big loss for his family.

The state Fire Marshal's Office said they will continue to investigate the fire.
