WEST VIRGINIANS LIKE THEIR TANS (UNDER LAMPS)

This weeks worst list featuring the Mountain State. West Virginians may be the most obese in the nation, but they like to have good tans. A study says Charleston is the indoor tanning capital of the U.S. Now comes a bill in the WV Senate that would require anyone under 18 to get their parents' permission before lying under tanning lamps. Anyone under 14 would have to bring a parent with them to the parlor. Senator Dan Foster, who is a physician, is concerned that skin cancer rates are on the rise. Apparently parental consent rules are in place in most states. The American Journal of Preventive Medicine this month found 18 tanning salons in Charleston, the largest density population in the United States.
