James "Carol" Hardway, 74, of Duck, CLay County, WV died Tuesday, January 15, 2002 at
Stonewall-Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston, WV.
He was the son of the late James and Florence Santy Hardway. He was in the U.S. Army from
1950-1952 and a member of the American Legion. He was self employed in the timber
industry.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Starcher Hardway; two sons, Phillip "Duke" Hardway and
his wife Kara of Buckhannon, WV, Wayne Hardway and his wife Vicki of Mt, Zion, WV; one
brother, Gene Hardway of Mt. Zion; two sisters, Irene Lambert and Hallie Lambert both of
Strange Creek, WV. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Cole, Kaley, Andrea and Chance
Hardway.
He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Brooks and Casto Hardway and his two sisters,
Glennis Carter and Nellie Reed.
Funeral services will be held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, WV, Saturday, January 19,
2002 at 1:00 p.m. Reverend David Jesse will officiate. Interment will be in the Gibson Cemetery,
Arnoldsburg, WV. Visitation will be Friday evening, January 18, from 6 to 9 p.m.
