COURTHOUSE ELEVATOR GRANT DENIED AGAIN

(03/11/2009)
Attempts at obtaining funding for an elevator for the Calhoun courthouse have been denied again.

The Calhoun Commission, over a number of years, has attempted to get funding for the much-needed project.

The WV Development Office has advised the commission they can re-apply for the Small Cities Block Grant again next year.

The commission has architect plans for the three-story elevator.

Costs of the elevator have risen from about $175,000 to nearly $500,000 during the past ten years.
