Charles D. Rudd, 87 - Stumptown

Charles D. Rudd, 87, of Stumptown, Gilmer County, West Virginia, passed away March 7, 2009 at Minnie Hamilton health System, Grantsville.

Born December 28, 1921 at Valley Head, Randolph County, WV, he was the son of the late William and Pearl May Asbury Rudd.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Geneva Marie McCauley Rudd; a son, Thomas Allen Rudd; brothers, James, Daruis, and Ted; sisters, Blanche, Helen, Cleo and Cleva; 1 half brother; 2 half sisters.

He was a US Army Veteran of WWII and was a Christian by faith.

Surviving are sons, Donivan Rudd of Louisville, KY, Charles Rudd of Elizabethtown, KY, and Thomas Rudd of Newbury, Ohio; daughters, Darlene Putnam of Shock, WV and Tonya Herncane of Hiram, OH; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild; 2 sisters, Nina Saunders of WV and Lucille Thorn of Ohio.

Funeral services will be held 12-noon Tuesday, March 10 at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, WV. Rev. John Putnam will officiate. Interment will be in the Rosedale Community Cemetery at Rosedale, WV.

Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services.
