POLICEMAN SHOT AFTER DISRUPTING ROBBERY - Huntington police have arrested a man who shot a Huntington police officer early Wednesday morning.

19-year-old Anthony "A-Train" Jennings is in police custody.

Chief Skip Holbrook said that Officer Ryan Bentley, a 9-year veteran of the force, was in the area where a a robbery was in progress.

Officer Bentley chased Jennings into an alley and that's when he turned around and shot the officer twice, once in the leg and once in the neck.

Bentley is listed in stable, but serious condition.

Jennings' bond was set at $2 million. One million for the attempted murder charge, the other million on the robbery charges.

Court records say that Jennings had three prior arrests: Transferring Stolen Property, Driving on a DUI, and Misdemeanor Possession, according to WSAZ-TV.

In 2003, Jennings's father, Melvin, was shot and killed outside the family home in Huntington.

GUNS, CASH AND DRUGS - Three men from Macon, Georgia were jailed Wednesday after Huntington police found drugs, money, and guns at a home where they were staying,

The Huntington Police Department says they found $7,000 worth of crack cocaine, four handguns, a shotgun and cash.

The three men arrested are Nekose Vinson, Thomas Redding and Victor Calhoun - all three are now in the Western Regional Jail.

Lt. Combs says says Georgia is posing a problem for Huntington just like Detroit and Columbus when it comes to drugs.

DETROIT MAN SHOT IN CHARLESTON - Charleston police are trying to figure out who shot a Detroit man outside a West Side home.

Robert Martin Brown, 26, of Detroit, told police he had just left a house at 402 Bream St. at about 1:30 a.m. when he was robbed and shot in the stomach and leg.

Police found empty 9 mm cartridge cases at the scene.

Although there were five people at the crime scene, "Nobody sees anything," said police.

CONVENIENCE STORE HEISTS - Two convenience stores in the Kanawha Valley were robbed early Tuesday and police believe the robberies could be related.

The first robbery happened just before 4 a.m. Tuesday at the 7-11 on Washington Street West in Charleston.

The robber walked into the store with a knife and demanded money.

The second robbery happened in South Charleston at the 7-11 along Second Avenue at 5:40 a.m.

The person involved in the second robbery also used a knife.
