THREE FILE FOR COUNTY OFFICES - Two Commission Candidates, One For Magistrate

Three individuals filed Monday, the first filing day, for county offices, according to Shelia Garretson, Circuit Clerk.

Lynn C. Gilbert-Democrat, a Grantsville dentist, has filed for Calhoun Commission. Gilbert is the wife of real estate broker Jim Morris and daughter-in-law of Calhoun Chronicle publisher Carl Morris.

Incumbent David Barr-Republican filed for a third term as County Commissioner. Barr, a White Pine farmer and oil and gas producer for 41 years, is married to the former Garnet Kelley and has five children.

Rick (Bubba) Postalwait-Democrat has filed for Calhoun Magistrate. Postalwait, a former Calhoun County Deputy Sheriff and graduate of the West Virginia State Police Academy, was appointed to fill the unexpired term of Steve Johnson.

Saturday, January 26, 2002 at 12 midnight is the filing deadline.
